In 2006, Dayun Town achieved a regional GDP of 656 million yuan and a total industrial and agricultural output value of 3.877 billion yuan, including a total industrial output value of 3.638 billion yuan, a total fiscal revenue of 5,065.438 billion yuan and a per capita net income of 8,778 yuan. It has been named as the hometown of fresh cut flowers in China, the hometown of fresh cut flowers in Zhejiang Province, the top ten towns with flower characteristics in Zhejiang Province, the first batch of industrial satellite towns in Zhejiang Province, the health town in Zhejiang Province, the strong education town in Zhejiang Province and the popular science demonstration town in Zhejiang Province, and has been selected as the top ten towns in Jiaxing for three consecutive years. In 2006, it was named as a township with beautiful environment and a provincial civilized town in China.

Dayun Town has superior natural conditions, with greenhouse fruits and vegetables and fresh cut flowers as the two leading characteristic industries of agriculture. The multiple cropping index of grain crops in the town reached 228%, and the proportion of grain crops in the town reached 28: 72. The production of fresh cut flowers has become a bright spot for Dayun Town to develop beneficial agriculture. The planting area of fresh cut flowers in Dayun Town reaches 3,000 mu, and all of them adopt standard steel pipe greenhouse and drip irrigation technology. It is the town with the largest planting area of fresh cut flowers in Zhejiang Province, with an annual output of 654.38+0.5 billion branches, accounting for 3% of the total output of fresh cut flowers in China. The varieties include Gerbera jamesonii, Lily, fragrant fruit, rose, calla lily and gladiolus. Dayun Town is one of the first industrial satellite towns opened to the outside world in Zhejiang Province.
