The Origin of Beijing Film Academy's North Film
In the early days of China People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, after Yan 'an Film Group led by China made the film Yan 'an and the Eighth Route Army, Yuan, the head of the film group, was appointed by the CPC Central Committee to take all the negatives of the film to Moscow, Soviet Union for post-production in the summer of 1940. Yuan's visit to Moscow National Film Academy during the Soviet period was greatly inspired, which led to the original intention that China needed to set up a "China's own film university" to develop the people's film industry.

With the rapid progress of China's People's Liberation War, in order to meet the national liberation and train and save cadres, according to the instructions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Northeast Bureau, Northeast Film Studio, the only base of the people's film industry at that time, held four training courses for film cadres from 1947, training more than 520 cadres, including 440 cadres who participated in film work and more than 70 cadres who participated in military and local cultural work. These training courses adhere to the direction of running schools and educational policies, and have accumulated experience for establishing China's own film education.

After the birth of New China, filmmakers such as Zhou Yang, Yuan Yang and others felt that a large number of filmmakers were needed to play and write about workers, peasants and soldiers when planning the renovation, construction and development of the broken wall left by old China. At present, the conditions for establishing "China's own film university" are not available, so Chen Boer is appointed to plan and implement it from reality. So people's film education began its primary stage. Under the leadership of Xie Tieli, Ba Hong, Yao and others, after planning and with the consent of the Ministry of Culture and Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, the Performing Arts Research Institute of the Film Bureau of the Central Ministry of Culture was established on June 1950. And began enrolling students in Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai and other places in early July. 1950 September 14, 38 students of the first three-year undergraduate actor class held the opening ceremony.

The Academy of Performing Arts is led by Chen Boer. The site is located in No.4 courtyard of Shilaoniang Hutong in Xicheng District, and then three school buildings, No.9 courtyard of Shilaoniang Hutong, Shoubi Hutong and Dacheng Lane, are gradually developed, with a total area of 3,200 square meters and a usable area of 2,000 square meters. During the period of the Institute of Performing Arts, China * * * Branch was the eighth branch under the General Branch of the Film Bureau.

Actor Class One enrolled two transfer students in 195 1 and 1952, and 55 students graduated.

195 1 The new school year begins, and two classes, actors and writers, are recruited. There are 24 actors in Class Two and 37 writers in Class Two.

1951may, the Academy of Performing Arts was renamed the Film Academy of the Film Bureau of the Central Ministry of Culture.

At that time, most of the professional teachers were artists who had been engaged in revolutionary literature and art for many years from liberated areas, military units and Kuomintang-controlled areas. The lecturers are: Wang Yi, Xie Tieli, Chen Huaikai, Ba Hong, Li Luling,,, Tang, Geng, Xu,,, Wu Tian and Lin Yi. At that time, in terms of teaching, I began to learn the Soviet drama and performance theory that had been introduced into China, and compiled the teaching materials for specialized courses such as Drama Course. At the same time, Pei Wenzhong and Jin Kemu were invited to give lectures on the history of social development and political economy, Wang Zhenzhi gave lectures on "Speech at Yan 'an Forum on Literature and Art" and Shi Dongshan and Cai Chusheng gave lectures on film characteristics. In addition, famous writers and artists such as Zhou Yang, Chen Huangmei, Yu Min, Yu Pingbo, Ding Ling, Nie Gannu, Sun, Ai Qing, Lao She and Sheng Jialun all came to our school to give special lectures.

During my stay in the Academy of Performing Arts, although there are not many professional teachers and the teaching plan is relatively simple, the courses taught by the professors cover all aspects of literature and art, and the knowledge accepted by the students is also very extensive. During this period, there was no special teaching equipment and the conditions were simple. The practice is to buy tickets at the cinema on the brick floor in the courtyard. Classrooms and dormitories are stoves burning briquettes in winter. Students implement the supply system, although the conditions are difficult, but the style of study is unity, tension, vividness and seriousness.

195 1 autumn, class 1 and class 2 actors and screenwriters went to Hanyang, Hubei Province to participate in land reform for 6-8 months. After that, the screenwriter class went deep into Shijingshan Iron and Steel Plant to participate in the workshop trade union work, and lived with Shijiazhuang workers for three months. During the period of 1952, the adjustment of colleges and universities in China. The teachers and students of Nanjing Jinling University's film broadcasting course headed by Professor Sun, the audio-visual education course headed by Professor Sunan Institute of Culture and Education, and the animation course headed by Professor Qian Jiajun and Professor Fan Jingxiang were transferred to the Film Academy together with the teaching equipment of the three schools. At this point, the Film Academy has become a comprehensive school with an art department and a technology department. This marks a new step for China film education. At the same time, the school moved into a new school building in Huanggu Grave, outside the gap in Xinjiekou. The new school building covers an area of 3.3 hectares, with a construction area of 6,900 square meters, including a rehearsal hall of 300 square meters, a theater 1.800 square meters, classrooms and laboratories of 600 square meters, and a simple playground 1.500 square meters is set on the south side of the school site.

After the adjustment of departments, 1952 Film Academy participated in the unified enrollment of colleges and universities across the country, and opened three two-year junior college classes of news photography, printing and animation transferred from Suzhou Art Institute. In addition to specialized courses, the printing major has also enrolled technical secondary schools. In order to develop film screening in ethnic minority areas, a training course for film screening teachers in ethnic minority areas was held. Until 1954, in-service cadre training courses such as news photography cadre training course, the first projection teacher training course and Russian professional course were held successively.

1953 In March, the Film Academy of the Film Bureau of the Central Ministry of Culture was renamed Beijing Film Academy.

19531953 On February 24th, the Government Affairs Bureau of the Central People's Government made a decision at the199th government meeting. "... the Film Bureau should actively prepare conditions, strive to establish a film art academy within four to five years, and train film talents, first of all writers, directors and actors ...". In the first five-year plan for the development of the film industry formulated by the Film Administration, there is a plan to establish the Beijing Film Academy on the basis of the Beijing Film Academy. According to the State Council's decision, the Ministry of Culture sent a group of overseas students to the Soviet Union and the GDR to study film scriptwriting, film photography, film art and film engineering. Organize special personnel to inspect Soviet film education; At the same time, Soviet film education experts were hired to teach and train teachers. 1955165438+10 was taught by Soviet experts B. Ivanov, B. Kazanski, A. simonov and B. Antonenko, and four special classes were held for directors, actors, photographers and producers, focusing on training teachers. The students are all on-the-job cadres from the creative production departments of various film studios, with considerable practical experience and a two-year academic system. At the same time, the school is equipped with some teachers to assist Soviet experts to study and work in regular classes.

In addition to theoretical teaching, Soviet experts pay more attention to the practice of film homework during recess. For this reason, the school set up an internship office on the basis of the original performance department, adding film internship equipment and teaching AIDS. Under the guidance of Soviet experts, four professional classes successively filmed nine co-productions such as The Storm of the Little White Flag and Rebellion, and the actor professional class rehearsed the stage plays The Enemy and Twelfth Night. Premier Zhou Enlai personally watched the performance of Twelfth Night, and met with Soviet experts and students, who affirmed and encouraged the experts' teaching and students' academic achievements.

1In July, 955, the Beijing Film Academy Preparatory Report was reported to the Government Affairs Bureau by the Ministry of Culture. On July 24th, Premier Zhou Enlai personally gave instructions to the Ministry of Higher Education, and on August 4th, the Comprehensive Department of the Ministry of Education officially listed the plan.

From the first actor class of Academy for Performing Arts to the professional class, the initial historical stage of film education has delivered 576 professional graduates for the urgent need and development of new China film industry. Among them: Li,,, Pang Xueqin, Sun Yu,, Lin, Lin Nong, Rebecca,, Kena Dong, Yang Jing, Yu Yang and Zhang Guilan. , Wei Duo, Chang Yan, Ada and many other famous artists, as well as professors, researchers and senior engineers such as Yu Qian, Liu Guodian and Kong.

On June 1956 and 1 day, the State Council approved the restructuring of the Beijing Film Academy and appointed Wang Lanxi as the director and president of the Film Administration. After the establishment of the Academy, the school was located in Xiaoxitian Street outside Xinjiekou. Professional departments are set up as film director department, film actor department, film photography department and projectionist professional courses. At the same time, I participated in the national unified enrollment. Three undergraduate departments (four-year system) have to take professional examinations (including initial examination and re-examination), and 86 students have been admitted. They are the first undergraduates of the New China Film Team. Twenty-nine junior college students participated in the special course of teacher selection. The curriculum of the three departments is divided into professional basic courses, professional courses and lecture courses. In terms of common courses, it is divided into political courses, literature and history courses, foreign languages and physical education class. Although teaching materials, plays, bibliographies and other aspects also contain the traditional contents of China's national art education, the framework of the teaching plan basically adopts the Soviet film education system. 1958 In August, the Ministry of Culture approved the establishment of the Experimental Film Studio of Beijing Film Academy.

1959 The Department of Film and Fine Arts was added, with a five-year undergraduate program. And registered students.

From 1960 to 1965, there are 20 short stories, 7 1 books and many documentaries made by the graduating class of undergraduates organized by the experimental film studio. Among them, three short stories, The Mountain Dragon, The Carpenter, Father and Son, and two documentaries, Blast Furnace Fireworks and Song of Loading and Unloading, have been released in China.

The main teaching objects in this period are all majors of undergraduate departments, but they still insist on cultivating on-the-job cadres for the development of film industry. 1959 set up a short training department and trained 273 students in four majors: news director, news photography, recording and development. This year, a training class for performance teachers was held, and Soviet performance artist Nini Pankova was invited to give lectures. The advanced class of performance teachers 1960 graduated in August and performed the Soviet drama "The Optimistic Tragedy". The Department of Photography holds "Short Training Course for TV Photography Cadres" and "Short Training Course for Science and Education Film Photography", the Department of Directors holds "Advanced Training Course for Science and Education Film Directors" and the Department of Engineering holds "Special Training Course for Projection Teachers". As a measure of teaching reform, 1960 Performance Department tried to recruit two six-year junior high school graduates.

Since 1960, the photography department of the college has accepted students from Vietnam, Cambodia, Algeria and Indonesia to study film photography, and the director department has also accepted students from Algeria.

1959 In March, entrusted by the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Beijing Film Academy produced the Beijing News, a periodical news magazine twice a month, to reflect the new achievements, new figures and new events in the construction and development of various fronts in Beijing. At the same time, he also produced "Building Miyun Reservoir" and many large-scale documentaries about Beijing industry and Beijing agriculture.

1960 The Beijing News was rated as an advanced unit of socialist construction in culture, education, health and sports in Beijing. By the autumn of 1962, 63 issues were issued. Due to the sharp drop in film imports, the municipal party Committee decided to suspend filming.

In the early 1960s, this course strengthened the construction of history courses, added the history of China films, the history of foreign films and an introduction to art, and made a required reading list and an optional reading list for students.

From 65438 to 0966, after the great proletarian cultural revolution began, film education was completely paralyzed. 1970 in may, all the teaching staff were assigned to work on the army farm, and then all the school buildings, equipment, film materials and books were handed over, and the film academy was swept out of the house.

During this period, under pressure, film schools successively recruited 22 professional classes of "workers, peasants and soldiers" such as junior college, technical secondary school and advanced class.

After the downfall of the Gang of Four, 1977 was approved by the State Council, and the former Beijing Film Academy was restored.
