Chongqing Normal University, referred to as "Chongqing Normal University" for short, is located in Chongqing, a municipality directly under the Central Government of China, and is one of the universities implemented by the national "Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in the Midwest".

Selected as the first batch of cooperative universities in "Excellent Agricultural and Forestry Talents Education and Training Plan, Excellent Teachers Training Plan" and "Ma Yun Rural Normal Students Plan", it is a comprehensive normal university featuring teacher education and coordinated development of multiple disciplines.
