Differences and relations between information technology and educational technology
Educational technology refers to the theory and practice of teaching optimization by using educational theory and various technologies through the design, development, utilization, management and evaluation of teaching and learning processes and resources. Information technology refers to a technology that can complete the acquisition, transmission, processing, regeneration and utilization of information. Among them, information technology applied in the field of education mainly includes digital audio-visual technology, satellite TV broadcasting technology, multimedia computer technology, artificial intelligence technology, network technology and virtual reality simulation technology.

Information technology includes educational technology, not just educational technology. Educational technology also includes information technology, but it is not just information technology. They are interdependent, cross and complement each other. The two concepts of educational technology and information technology are sometimes easily confused, because they are closely related, both related and different.

The differences are as follows:

1 Differences in Subject, Object and Research Category

Information technology belongs to a technical discipline, its research object is information, and its research scope is information acquisition, storage, analysis, processing, conversion, transmission and evaluation.

Educational technology belongs to the educational discipline, and its research object is the teaching process and teaching resources supported by appropriate technology, while the research category is the design, development, utilization, management and evaluation of teaching process and teaching resources supported by appropriate technology.

The so-called appropriate technology includes modern technology, traditional technology, tangible materialized technology and intangible intelligent technology. At present, it refers to information technology, but it can't be just understood as information technology.

2 the difference between goals

Information technology training is to enable trainees to have information technology literacy, that is, to have the awareness, ability and morality of using information technology. Among them, the ability to use information technology refers to the ability to acquire, store, analyze, process, transform, transmit and evaluate information.

The cultivation of educational technology ability is to make trainees have educational technology literacy, that is, to have the consciousness, ability and morality of using educational technology. Among them, the ability to use educational technology refers to the ability to design, develop, utilize, manage and evaluate the teaching process and teaching resources with appropriate technical support, that is, the ability to design and effectively organize and implement teaching in the teaching environment with appropriate technical support.

3 the difference between content systems

Information technology training materials are developed around various information processing technologies. Although information technology training also involves teaching applications such as the development of teaching resources, the use of teaching software, and automatic evaluation of teaching, the purpose is to verify the practicability and effectiveness of related information technology through teaching applications such as cases.

Teaching materials for cultivating educational technology ability are developed around all aspects of teaching design and teaching implementation. The cultivation of educational technology ability involves the content of information technology, but the purpose is to optimize the teaching process and improve the quality and efficiency of learning by using this technology.

Simply put, the main contents of information technology training are computer operation and the use of office courseware making software, while the main contents of educational technology training are teaching design and resource editing.

4 conclusion

Educational technology training centered on instructional design and resource processing is related to information technology training, but there are essential differences. The foundation of educational technology training is information technology training, and the next step of information technology training is educational technology training. The purpose of educational technology training is to form teaching ability with technical content.
