Beijing Bell and Drum Tower was built in the 9th year of Yuan Dynasty (1272). In the 18th year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1420), the Drum Tower and Bell Tower were rebuilt for the second time and then destroyed by fire. Ten years after the Qing dynasty (1745), the bell tower was rebuilt. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty (1736— 1795), the Drum Tower was destroyed.
