Beijing language and culture university is a key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is the only international university named after "language" established in New China, and its main mission is to spread the language and culture of China. It is called "Little United Nations".
Linguistics and applied linguistics are national key disciplines, Beijing first-class key discipline 1, Beijing second-class key discipline 10, and China language and literature and national regional studies are selected as "advanced disciplines in Beijing universities".
Every year, more than 100 teachers are sent abroad to teach, and more than 400 students go abroad for exchange and study. This university is the first university in China to set up a branch abroad. At present, there is Bangkok College in Thailand and Tokyo Branch in Japan.
