Le 'an has a long history, belonging to Wu in the Spring and Autumn Period, Yue in the early Warring States Period, Chu in the Zhou Dynasty, Jiujiang County in the Qin Dynasty, Nancheng County in the Western Han Dynasty, Linru County in the Eastern Han Dynasty, Linchuan County in the Three Kingdoms Period and Chongren County in the Sui Dynasty.
