Shanxi Media College, referred to as "Shanxi Media", is located in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. It is a university jointly founded by the State Administration of Radio and Television of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Shanxi Province. It is the third largest media undergraduate college in China and one of the main bases for training media professionals such as radio and film.

The school is one of the eight national animation teaching and research bases of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, and the training base of excellent news communication talents of the Propaganda Department of Shanxi Provincial Party Committee.

It is one of the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" application-oriented undergraduate engineering universities developed by the Ministry of Education 100, and one of the six pilot universities transformed into application-oriented universities in Shanxi Province. Formerly the North China Radio and Television School established by the former Ministry of Radio and Television 1983, the Management Cadre College of the Ministry of Radio, Film and Television was established on 1990, and in 2000 it was renamed as the Radio, Film and Television Management Cadre College, and Shanxi Media College was established on 20 13. ?
