The reputation in the United States is OK, because Buffalo is also SUNY's flagship school, and the university's reputation evaluation is very regional to the American public, so it is still very famous in Honshu, New York, and its position in the hearts of new york people is no less than that of UIUC in the hearts of Illinois people. Of course, out of New York State or Northeast China, the reputation is much worse. In the eyes of the American people, Buffalo is regarded as the second echelon of public universities besides UCB, UCLA, UWM, Umich, Kit and UoV, as well as UIUC, Purdue, UCD, UCSB, UNCC and UMN.
