Located in Beijing, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and jointly established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It ranks among the national "double first-class" construction universities, "2 1 1 engineering" and "985 engineering advantage discipline innovation platform". He is a founding member of Beijing Hi-Tech University Alliance, China Artificial Intelligence Education Association and CDIO Engineering Education Alliance. It has successively been selected into the national "11plan" and "20 1 1 plan", the institutions that have received scholarships from the China government for overseas students, the first batch of universities with excellent engineer education and training programs of the Ministry of Education, the first batch of "new engineering" research and practice projects of the Ministry of Education, and the first batch of demonstration projects of deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform in China.
Established in 1955, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, formerly known as Beijing Institute of Posts and Telecommunications, is the first post and telecommunications institution in People's Republic of China (PRC), which belongs to the former Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications. 1960 was identified as a national key university by the State Council. 1993, renamed as "Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications". In 2000, it was listed in the ranks of universities directly under the Ministry of Education.
