Educational differences between China and the United States
Americans feel that their children should be responsible for themselves and do their own things. Objectively speaking, parents have many advantages over the previous generation of children, which are as follows: the generation gap is small, it is easy to achieve strict love constraints, and it is closer to the requirements of the new era. American parents usually respect their children, regard them as equals, and always try to respect their opinions and choices and let them participate. China's parents treat their children as children, and children are often arranged by their parents. "He is a child!" What do China's parents often say? American parents let their children think for themselves and decide what to do, while China parents usually tell their children what to do. For example, parents and children have an uncle. Americans are often adults and ask him, "What should you call this gentleman?" Then let the children think for themselves and make their own phone calls, while the parents in China directly said to the children: "Uncle said!" American family education pays special attention to letting children have jobs. American children not only do things for themselves and do their own housework, but also learn "work" from an early age, such as doing things for other children, cleaning and selling newspapers. The older they get, the more jobs they have. In China, children only rarely participate in social work and share less housework. Many children are very old, and things like washing underwear are still arranged by their parents. American families are very happy to give their children a relaxed environment, give them more freedom and let them move. In contrast, China's family education has fewer children, fewer activities, and heavy learning tasks, with one demanding too much and the other too low. There are many great differences between Chinese and American family education, but these differences are instructive for us to improve our teaching methods. For the above differences, I tend to agree with the parents of the United States of America. We should think deeply about these differences, advantages and disadvantages, find out the shortcomings of our own educational methods, and try our best to educate our children.
