The responsibilities of the Secretary for Education are as follows:

1. To study and formulate the short-term and long-term work plans and measures of this bureau according to the principles, policies and regulations of the party and the state and the higher-level party committees and governments on education, and be responsible for guiding, inspecting and supervising the implementation, and be fully responsible for all the work of this bureau.

2. Organize and coordinate the deputy directors and departments, often go deep into reality, do a good job in investigation and study, deepen education reform, sum up and popularize advanced experience, and constantly improve the quality of education and the efficiency of running schools.

3 to participate in the formulation of the annual plan of education funds, check and supervise the education investment, do a good job in the management and use of education funds at the corresponding level, and guide the basic construction, conditions and equipment of the school.

4. Guide the construction of teachers and education administrative cadres, coordinate labor wages, personnel management, entrance examination and school internal management system reform, and do a good job in the assessment and management of school cadres in accordance with the cadre management authority procedures. Responsible for the employment distribution of normal graduates.

5. Preside over the executive meeting, listen to the work report, discuss and decide on major issues, summarize the arrangement work, and pay special attention to the management of this bureau.

6. Carry out the open system of government affairs, guide the open work of school affairs, and strengthen the construction of a clean government.
