In 2023, the theme of "the first lesson of school" was "Rejuvenating the country with me", which was broadcast on CCTV comprehensive channel at 8: 00 pm on September 1 2023, and simultaneously broadcast on new media platforms such as CCTV news, CCTV video, learning ability and wisdom education of Chinese studies in primary and secondary schools.

In 2008, the theme of "the first lesson of school" was "knowledge protects life", and the program consisted of four lessons: potential, teamwork, persistence and life.
