1, Spencer's education prepares for a perfect life, is it for this life or the afterlife? 2. What does Herbart mean by sympathetic interest?
1, this life

Herbart divides interests into two categories: interest in experience and interest in sympathy. The interest in experience belongs to the understanding of the surrounding natural reality, "imitating the East in front of it conceptually", and the interest in sympathy belongs to the understanding of social life, "putting yourself in others' shoes". Then these two interests are divided into six kinds. Interest in experience includes three kinds of interests: empirical (observing and understanding individual phenomena in nature and surrounding environment), speculative (exploring the knowledge of natural laws) and aesthetic (artistically evaluating the goodness, evil, beauty and ugliness of phenomena); Compassionate interests include sympathetic (contact with a certain range of people), social (contact with a wider range of people in society to fulfill civic obligations) and religious (attach importance to and be close to the Sect you believe in, believe in God and obey the church). Cool test answer for you.
