Wuxi has a subtropical monsoon climate in the south of China. Generally speaking, spinach and eggplant are widely planted in Wuxi in March and April because these vegetables sell well.

Wuxi, referred to as "tin" for short, was called Liangxi and Jingui in ancient times and was known as the "Pearl of Taihu Lake". Wuxi is located in the hinterland of the Yangtze River Delta Plain, south of Jiangsu, the transportation center of Taihu Lake Basin, and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal passes through it.
