At the opening ceremony, Li Li, general manager of Changsha Vanke, shared a typical innovation case of Tongyou community. As one of the first pilot projects of child-friendly community in China, Vanke Charming City has taken "child-friendly" as the starting point and goal of the project from the initial planning stage, and has been actively exploring and trying to iteratively build a child-friendly community from design concept to spatial planning to material selection and detail treatment, extending the tentacles of creating a child-friendly city to communities where children live.
Ms. Zhou, Chairman of Beijing Yongzhen Public Welfare Foundation, shared the theme of "From child-friendly community to child-friendly city" at the opening ceremony. Liu Zhengshan, a postdoctoral fellow in Tsinghua University, executive deputy director and researcher of Urban Research Institute of China Urban Development Research Association, discussed the topic of building a child-friendly city and improving children's happiness index. He pointed out that a child-friendly city is not a city dominated by children, but a city centered on children's interests and growth, thus building a child-friendly environment and a city with healthy development of children's body and mind.
Ms. Tang Sulan, Deputy Secretary-General of Hunan CPPCC and Chairman of Changsha Federation of Literary and Art Circles, discussed the significance of building a child-friendly city culture with the theme of "Reading gives children a pair of wings". She is very much looking forward to cultivating children's reading habits and improving their reading ability through rich and interesting family parent-child reading activities. She firmly believes that a child-friendly city that is equal to children, gives children a voice and has children's participation will be realized in Changsha at an early date. Shen Yao, associate professor, doctoral supervisor and director of the child-friendly city research office of Hunan University School of Architecture, shared the theme of "Towards a child-friendly community". She talked about China's perspective from an international perspective, and how she devoted herself to combining the concept of "child-friendly city" with community construction, exploring the vivid practice of child-friendly community in practice, empowering Changsha, and creating the landing mode of "university research+community practice".
Long Xin, part-time vice chairman of the Women's Federation of Furong District, deputy director of Dingwangtai Sub-district Office and secretary of the Party Committee of Quanfeng Gu Jing Community, shared some important events in exploring and practicing child-friendly communities in the community. Meng Tong, a childlike innocence, actively advocates the concept of "children-oriented" urban development, listens to children's voices and respects their needs. On the eve of Children's Day, the main venue of this activity also organized a question-and-answer activity on the construction of a child-friendly city, "Listen, what is nature saying?" Held painting exhibition awards, "My Changsha, My Dream" painting awards, small planners' children's council awards, flag-raising ceremony of community children's councils and other activities to promote the sustainable development of the city, make the city built for children and let children grow up happily in the city! This activity is the theme activity of collecting paintings for school-age children in Changsha. In just six days, over 700 works were collected. After several rounds of screening and evaluation by a professional jury, 30 young artists finally stood out and were invited to work together to create a child-friendly painting scroll in Vanke Meng Tong Creative Camp.
