Dr Tucker is the former director of the Center for Economic Education at the University of North Carolina and a long-term member of the National Economic Education Committee. Dr Tucker's ability to apply the basic principles of economics to real economic problems and policies is widely recognized. He was awarded medals by the Federation of Independent Trade Unions and the Washington Freedom Foundation for his outstanding achievements in the fields of private enterprise education, entrepreneurship and economic education. In addition, he has published a large number of professional papers in the fields of industrial organization research, entrepreneurship and educational economics. Dr. Tucker is also the author of Modern Economics (4th Edition), which is a two-semester textbook of Principles of Economics and published by Southwest Publishing House. At the same time, as a co-author, Dr. Tucker, together with Professor Allen Wright and Professor Tim Robbins from Queensland University of Science and Technology, compiled a semester edition of Modern Economics for readers in Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia, which was published by cengage learning.
