Yi Sai education
There is such a view of children that they look down on children and think that the most obvious feature of children compared with adults is ignorance.

Therefore, the corresponding education is to move things from the adult world into the children's brains.

There is also a view of children that children have their own world and life different from adults.

Therefore, the corresponding education is to find out what children like to do and learn first, and then let them enjoy doing and learning.

The former education is to teach children the knowledge and skills of the adult world, which is bound to make children live an adult life. We already know that a child has his own world and his own life, and he is like a duck to water in his world. But to let him live an adult life is to drive the fish out of the water and put the ducks on the shelves. This is unreasonable pressure on children. Although adults may be out of love and kindness, even so, they are doing bad things with kindness and encouraging them.

Historically, Comenius, Rousseau and others discovered its disadvantages. They made this discovery because they found children and found that children have a vivid, unique and growing life different from adults. It's a pity, wasteful and inhuman to drive children out of this life.

In the former case, the child is forced to remember things that are not of interest. He is a passive and depressed learner. In the latter case, children can live and study as "explorers", "thinkers" and "dreamers" according to their nature. He is an active and happy learner.

The latter learning can not only make children experience happiness, but also make it easier to achieve educational goals and cultivate children into healthy adults in the future society.

In the former education, adults pretend to be the owners of truth and the judges of value, so they are also dictators in management. He can manipulate and control children, he can command them and even punish them. In the latter education, adults are children's researchers, guides, helpers and big friends. Dewey and Montessori have the most distinctive ideas in this regard.

In the latter education, an adult is not idle. If he wants to be a guide or a behind-the-scenes supervisor, he must practice his internal skills and be alert and discerning. He wants to be a child researcher, understand the possible content and process of children's world, and understand children's current interests, needs and development level.

In the former case, because I don't understand children, I just impose adult things on children. Teachers seem to be active and busy, but in fact, they have little effect, and even do bad things with good intentions, which damages the development potential of children.

In the latter education, adults can enjoy the joy of exploration and growth with children, and even find treasures from children that are not available in the adult world. It can be said that educators can only liberate themselves if they liberate their children.

It is a question whether our education will continue to linger in the former situation or change to the latter, but it is an easy choice. The more complicated problem is how to turn the new educational concept into our flesh and blood, into our collective unconsciousness and cultural unconsciousness, and turn the correct educational concept of children into our unconscious and automatic educational behavior. Only in this way can the old ideas about children and education be completely eradicated.

The reform of children's education in China still has a long way to go.
