Abstract: Laozi is the ancestor of Taoism, and he is also one of the earliest educators to educate people with "Tao". This paper attempts to comprehensively analyze Laozi's educational thought from the background of its emergence, the relationship with Confucian education, Laozi's exposition on the function, purpose, object, content, methods and principles of education, and teachers.
