Under the guard of Tanghe, the city is like an iron wall, which has repeatedly repelled Zhang Shicheng's invasion. In this matter, he won the trust of Zhu Yuanzhang.
But no one is perfect, and Tanghe once made a big mistake and even almost killed himself. Tang He likes drinking, which can also be said to drown his sorrows. Once Tang He told Zhu Yuanzhang something, but without Zhu Yuanzhang's permission, Tang He felt that he was not taken seriously and went to drink. After drinking, he said that he could surrender to Zhang Shicheng at any time in Changzhou. It's just that good things don't go out, and bad things spread thousands of miles. When he learned that Li Shanchang was colluding with the traitor Hu, he told Zhu Yuanzhang these things decisively. In the end, Li Shanchang's family was killed.
Tanghe was old and had a stroke soon. However, he was still ordered to appear before Zhu Yuanzhang, and after Zhu Yuanzhang determined that he really had a stroke, he was chartered to retire to his hometown. However, Tang He has not been idle in his hometown. He accepts wives and concubines, feasts and drinks every day. The reason is to eliminate Zhu Yuanzhang's vigilance against himself.
At that time, Zhu Yuanzhang looked at his former comrades-in-arms, drooling, and could only lie in a chair, feeling sour in his heart. He knew that without soup, there would be no today. Therefore, after the death of Tanghe, Zhu Yuanzhang treated the descendants of Tanghe kindly until the demise of the Ming Dynasty.
