The basic study period is four years, and academic degrees are awarded. This major trains compound talents with good ideological and moral quality, solid knowledge of general education and educational rehabilitation and strong teaching practice ability, who can engage in the evaluation, rehabilitation, education, consultation and research and development of rehabilitation AIDS such as speech disorders, hearing disorders, language disorders, cognitive disorders, psychological disorders and motor disorders in special education schools and related institutions.
The importance of rehabilitation science and education to special children;
With the improvement of social medical level, the incidence of infectious diseases has decreased, and the survival rate of hereditary diseases, congenital malformations, premature delivery and very low birth weight infants has gradually increased. These children may have some obstacles or defects in the process of growth and development, and even have diseases such as cerebral palsy, mental retardation and autism.
These special children need long-term rehabilitation because the existing medical means can't cure these diseases. When they reach the age of education, they can only receive education with illness. In addition, with the implementation of the concept of zero rejection in special education, the degree of obstacles for special children with needs has increased, the types of obstacles have increased, and the number of children with multiple obstacles has increased.
Faced with these children, the original education and teaching objectives and plans of special education schools are difficult to implement. In view of the present situation of special education objects, to effectively improve the level of special education in China, we must take Scientific Outlook on Development as the guide to carry out reform. The core of Scientific Outlook on Development is people-oriented, and the reform of special education is naturally based on the needs of special children.
In a word, special children need both education and rehabilitation services. However, for a long time, rehabilitation services in China were mainly undertaken by hospitals, while education was mainly provided by special schools. In recent years, people began to reflect on this model of separation of rehabilitation and education, and no longer let hospitals and special schools alternate like mountains, so rehabilitation pedagogy came into being.
Prospects of rehabilitation and educational science;
According to the statistical bulletin of the second national sampling survey of disabled people in 2006, there are 3.87 million disabled people aged 0- 14 in China, and there are about 399,000 special children in school. 20 1 1 year, the number of full-time teachers of special education in China is 4131person, and the teacher-student ratio is 1:9.65, which is far lower than that of special education schools in developed countries.
If each professional serves 40 children and each child receives one hour of service every week, China needs 97,000 education and rehabilitation professionals. In fact, for most special children, one hour a week is not enough. Secondly, for many children with multiple obstacles, various professionals may provide comprehensive rehabilitation services.
Furthermore, due to the great individual differences of special children, individualized education and rehabilitation are often needed. Therefore, there is a huge gap between the demand for education and rehabilitation personnel in China and the actual number. With the increasing demand for social rehabilitation, rehabilitation medicine in China has been developed, and some medical colleges have set up related majors.
The survey shows that in 20 13 years, there were 72 undergraduate colleges and 1 13 higher vocational colleges in China offering rehabilitation, sports rehabilitation, health and other majors. However, these specialties mainly focus on physical therapy, and the trained rehabilitation therapists cannot meet the needs of China hospitals, let alone meet the urgent needs of special schools for education and rehabilitation talents. Therefore, the education disciplines in Chinese mainland universities must vigorously develop and build rehabilitation science and education majors to meet the needs of society and help more special children.
