Hubei University for Nationalities is a provincial general undergraduate college with undergraduate education approved by the Ministry of Education. It is a school jointly established by the Hubei provincial government and the State Ethnic Affairs Commission. The school dates back to the establishment of Hubei Lianzhong Rural Normal Branch on 1938, renamed Hubei Institute for Nationalities on 1989, and merged with Enshi Medical College on 1998 to form a new Hubei Institute for Nationalities.

In recent years, colleges and universities have changed their names one after another, and many schools hope to improve the quality of students by changing their names and provide assistance for the development of schools! We are still optimistic about the renaming of colleges and universities, but the public hopes that after the renaming, the school will still focus on students and focus on cultivating talents, so as to develop better!
