Wuhan Zoo is located in Moshui Lake, Hanyang District, Wuhan. Its predecessor was Wuhan Zhongshan Park Zoo. The zoo covers an area of 680,000 square meters and features golden monkeys and wetland birds in Shennongjia.

There are giant pandas, red pandas, golden monkeys, African elephants, giraffes, flamingos, penguins, rhinos, hippos, kangaroos, zebras, cheetahs and other animals. Zoo is the base of science and technology education for teenagers in China, and also the base of wildlife protection education in China.

Wuhan Zoo is a comprehensive garden zoo integrating animals, scenery, plants, architecture and amusement, and it is also a place for wildlife display, publicity, research and sightseeing.

There are 20 animal pavilions in five exhibition areas: Bird Pavilion, Hedo Pavilion, Chinese Animal Pavilion, Panda Pavilion, Hippo Pavilion, Golden Monkey Pavilion, Elephant Pavilion, Shihushan and Luyuan, covering an area of 24 1.23 square meters. There are also logistics facilities such as veterinary hospital, feed house and thermoelectric center, covering an area of 708 1 square meter.

There are 25 garden attractions such as Qu Ying Garden, Huguangxuan, Zhangshu Forest and Jiukong Bridge, and 22 commercial amusement facilities such as Water World, Jing Tian Building and Children's Amusement Zoo, covering an area of 1828 1 m2.
