Xiangyang Vocational and Technical College, located in Xiangyang, is a full-time ordinary higher vocational college approved by the Hubei Provincial People's Government and filed by the Ministry of Education. It is also a national model (backbone) higher vocational college and the second batch of national modern apprenticeship pilot units.

Xiangyang Vocational and Technical College was formerly known as Xiangfan Normal School, Xiangfan Agricultural School, Xiangfan Health School and Xiangfan Finance and Taxation Trade School. Its running history can be traced back to Xiangyang Normal School (the predecessor of Xiangfan Normal School) established in 1905. In August 2000, the above four schools were approved by the Hubei Provincial People's Government to establish Xiangyang Vocational and Technical College.
