The profile of Qinghai Normal University is as follows:
Qinghai Normal University was founded in 1956, expanded to Qinghai Normal University in 1958, and renamed Qinghai Normal University in 1984. 1997, after the adjustment of the layout structure of colleges and universities in Qinghai Province, the former Qinghai Normal University and the former Qinghai Institute of Education merged to form a new Qinghai Normal University.
From 2000 to 2004, the former Qinghai Teachers College for Nationalities, the former Water Conservancy Technical Secondary School of Qinghai University and the former bank of qinghai School were merged into Qinghai Normal University. After more than 50 years of construction and development, the school has formed a school-running pattern focusing on pre-service and post-service normal education, focusing on undergraduate education, postgraduate education, non-normal education, international education and Tibetan-Chinese bilingual science teacher education.
1994 was identified as a key institution for training Tibetan-Chinese bilingual science teachers by the leading group for Tibetan education cooperation in Tibet, Sichuan, Gansu and Qinghai provinces (regions). It is one of the national pilot colleges for training high-level athletes, the examiner of National Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK), and the main node college of China Education and Research Computer Network in Qinghai Province.
The school now has 8 secondary colleges (including Adult Education College and Teachers College for Nationalities), 8 teaching departments, 1 teaching department, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Culture College, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Ecology and Resources Environment College, Teacher Education Theory and Practice College, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Sports Training College, high-level sports training center and affiliated middle schools.
At present, the school has 535 faculty members/kloc-0, more than 0,000 professional technicians/kloc-0, including 489 senior titles, nearly 300 teachers with doctor's and master's degrees, and 5 experts/kloc-0 who enjoy special government allowance from the State Council. A team of high-level teachers with reasonable structure and young and middle-aged academic backbones as the main body has been formed.
