Cost of education
Education fee refers to the tuition and miscellaneous fees charged by teaching and training units for all kinds of personnel receiving training and education. This is a business expense.

Education in China is divided into four categories, namely, basic education (divided into three stages: primary school, junior high school and senior high school), vocational and technical education, higher education and adult education. Four different types of education have different charging principles and standards.

In China, various educational expenses are as follows: 1. Primary schools and junior high schools are free of tuition fees in the compulsory education stage, and all localities collect miscellaneous fees appropriately according to the actual situation; In the high school stage of non-compulsory education, miscellaneous fees and tuition fees are charged.

2. Vocational and technical education is generally secondary education, which belongs to the non-compulsory education stage. Fees are set by local price departments, and tuition and miscellaneous fees are generally charged. The standard is generally slightly higher than that of ordinary high schools, but lower than the average standard of tuition and fees in the same type of colleges and universities. Technical education fees for workers in agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry are often appropriately reduced or exempted.

3. For a long time, college students in China have been practicing the system of tuition and miscellaneous fees exemption. This system is incompatible with China's current economic strength, social development and reform requirements. Higher education is not compulsory. Appropriate charges are reasonable.

Adult education belongs to higher education, and its charging standard is proposed by the State Education Commission and approved by the State Price Bureau.
