The difference between public universities and private universities;
1. From the source of funds, private universities are mainly operated by private capital, relying on students' tuition fees to maintain the operation of universities, rather than relying on public funds. State-owned universities are universities established by the state, some of which are funded by the state and all of which are funded by the state.
2. Choice of students and tuition fees: The tuition fees of private universities are three to four times that of public universities, and schools have the right to choose their own students. Tuition fees of state-owned universities are lower than those of private universities according to state regulations.
3. In the teaching direction: private colleges and universities rely on the market to survive and offer courses for market demand. State-owned universities are funded by the state and undertake the mission of national higher education, with emphasis on the research and teaching of basic disciplines.
4. In the management mode: public universities are the official management mode, while private universities are refined and even militarized, paying more attention to the management of students' lives.
5. Teachers: Under normal circumstances, the teachers in private colleges and universities will be weaker, but it does not mean that the teachers are not good. Teachers in state-owned universities are usually experienced and have higher requirements for candidates when recruiting. In addition, the Ministry of Education and the Education Bureau will occasionally mobilize outstanding teachers to teach in colleges and universities, and the teaching force will be stronger. Teachers in private universities are mostly contract-based, with high mobility and unstable jobs. However, it is precisely because of the legal nature of private universities that teachers' performance is closely related to their work.
