Adult education in Changchun University of Traditional Chinese Medicine began in 1982, and the Department of Correspondence Amateur Education was established in March 1984. 1987, the Department of Correspondence Amateur Education was renamed the Department of Adult Education. 1992 opened the second major (specialist) education of adult higher education, 1997 the department of adult education was renamed the adult education college. Teachers are all teachers of Changchun University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and educational resources such as teaching equipment and books are shared with the school.
After a long period of development, it has formed a school-running system and pattern of adult higher education, non-academic continuing education, self-study examination, vocational skills training and other school-running forms and personnel training levels. Now it has become Jilin Branch of Licensed Pharmacist Training Center of US Food and Drug Administration, state administration of traditional chinese medicine Rural Chinese Medicine Knowledge and Skills Training Demonstration Base and Jilin Chinese Medicine Training Center. At present, there are 12 undergraduate majors and 9 specialist majors in adult education, which are examiners of pharmacy (undergraduate part) and rehabilitation technology (specialist part) in higher education self-study exam respectively. At present, more than12,000 students have signed up for the self-study exams for adult education and higher education.
