Anhui Normal University (AHNU for short) is located in Wuhu City, Anhui Province, which is the regional center of the Yangtze River Basin and an important port city. It is the earliest institution of higher learning in Anhui Province, and it comes down in one continuous line with the famous national Anhui University in the Republic of China.
An Normal University is a key university in Anhui Province jointly established by the Ministry of Education. It is the first batch of universities in China with the qualification of accepting overseas students at public expense, the first batch of universities with the right to award master's degrees, and the national Chinese education base. The school has the right of self-study for associate professors and the qualification of recommending graduate students without examination. It is also a key comprehensive university in Anhui Province. Anhui province's higher education revitalization plan builds four high-level universities with local characteristics in the first batch, and implements the "excellent teacher training plan".
