With the rapid expansion of contemporary information technology into the field of education, people's education and learning methods have undergone profound changes. Based on the author's experience in educational informatization, this paper analyzes the present situation and reasons of students' learning style in the field of basic education, puts forward the view that changing learning is more important than changing technology, and puts forward some suggestions on changing learning style.
Keywords: education informatization; Information technology; Learning style; change
First of all, the questions raised
Today, China's educational informatization has experienced more than ten years of development, and has penetrated into all fields and levels of education, profoundly changing people's education and learning methods. However, in the field of basic education, whether it is classroom teaching or teaching evaluation, traditional educational ideas are still displayed in a customary way. As a high-tech information technology and its related new educational ideas, it is difficult to integrate. Modern educational technology seems to be a layer of fur attached to education, occupying an auxiliary position in education. Take our school as an example. Our school is a prestigious nine-year compulsory school in Shaoguan. In 2004, in order to be rated as a first-class school in Guangdong Province, computer multimedia networks were installed in every classroom. But teachers usually use it as a slide projector, and the input is inversely proportional to the gain, which does not play its due role. On the one hand, the application of computer multimedia network classroom only focuses on teachers' teaching, enriching and deepening the teaching content. I often hear the teacher say: every class uses multimedia courseware, and now I am not used to the traditional way of class; On the other hand, although the application of computer multimedia network classroom provides rich information resources, it does not create new opportunities for courses and teaching, and creates a dynamic teaching environment. By bringing real-world problems into the classroom, students can explore and solve these problems. Students still need to spend a lot of time learning the facts in lecture-based teaching or texts, and they also need to complete the exercises at the end of each chapter. This phenomenon is really worrying and deserves our in-depth consideration.
Second, the current situation of students' learning style under the educational informationization
(A) What is learning style?
What is learning style? Learning style (also known as learning style) is an important concept in contemporary educational theory research. It was first put forward by American scholar Herbert Thelen in 1954. However, there is no widely accepted definition. As Thomas Bello said, "There are as many theorists as there are". Although the academic explanation of it is not exactly the same, most scholars believe that learning style refers to the basic behavior and cognitive orientation of learners in the process of completing learning tasks, and it is the sum of learning strategies and learning tendencies that learners have always shown. Therefore, learning style does not refer to specific learning strategies and methods, but the basic characteristics of students in autonomy, inquiry and cooperation. It not only includes relative learning methods and their relationships, but also involves psychological factors and spiritual strength such as learning habits, learning consciousness, learning attitude and learning quality.
The traditional way of learning bases learning on human objectivity, passivity and dependence, but ignores human initiative, initiative and independence. It is of strategic significance to change this single, subjective and passive learning mode and promote the development of students.
(B) the status quo of students' learning styles
At present, with the development of the times and the in-depth development of educational information technology, the old traditional educational concepts and corresponding teaching and learning methods that people have been used to for centuries have been completely changed, creating a brand-new educational concept and teaching and learning method based on high technology, truly respecting people's creativity, fully tapping people's potential and promoting people's exchanges and cooperation. Judging from the situation of education and teaching in our school, students' most commonly used learning methods are to listen carefully in class, review carefully after class, complete homework (mainly written homework and a lot of homework), pass the exam smoothly at the end of the semester and get good results. So when it comes to study, many students will think of reading, practicing, doing problems and taking exams. To a certain extent, students' learning styles are single and passive, lacking opportunities for independent inquiry, cooperative learning and independent acquisition of knowledge. The concrete manifestations are as follows: teaching is mainly taught by teachers, and students are rarely allowed to acquire knowledge through their own activities and practices; There are few learning activities that rely on students to consult materials, group discussions and group cooperation through the internet; Teachers often assign written exercises and reading textbooks, and rarely assign practical or research assignments such as observation, production, experiment, reading extracurricular books and social investigation and research; Students rarely have the opportunity to express their views and opinions according to their own understanding. To some extent, classroom teaching is centered on the classroom, teachers and teaching materials, ignoring the cultivation of students' subjective consciousness, innovative spirit and practical ability. This way of teaching and learning leads to classroom teaching becoming mechanical, boring and stylized, lacking vitality and fun, challenging wisdom and stimulating curiosity. Over time, it also leads to teachers' weariness of learning, students' weariness and heavy burden, and then weariness of learning.
(C) Analysis of the reasons for maintaining the status quo of students' learning style
The survey shows that the favorite learning styles of primary and secondary school students are experiments, using computers and reading extracurricular books in turn; Students believe that the most effective learning methods are listening, homework practice and experiment in turn. Obviously, there is a clear difference between the learning style that primary and secondary school students like and the learning style that they think is the most effective. The so-called "effective" learning style that primary and middle school students think is actually the most commonly used way in school education at present, and it is also the main way to cope with the current exams and complete homework. A large number of students can't use their favorite learning methods to improve their learning efficiency.
Both common sense of life and psychological research tell us that if we do something we don't like for a long time, people will often feel depressed and unhappy, and they will become more and more annoying. Conversely, if it is something you like, people will not only feel happy and comfortable at that time, but also may enjoy doing it more and more. If children can learn in their favorite way at school, they can not only get a happy mood in the learning process, but also have a positive learning experience and enjoy learning more and more. This is the expected result of modern education-let children learn lifelong learning. Today's children have been exposed to computer network information since childhood and have strong adaptability to it. As teachers, we should give full play to the role of information technology, enhance its status, and make it a powerful and important tool of education-it is not only a rich information resource, but also can extend people's ability and expand the social environment supporting learning. Under the informationization of education, students' learning methods still maintain the status quo, which involves people's views on technology and education and how to use technology in education. People have different views on how to make full use of technology in education. One is to regard technology as a medium for people to learn, and the other is to regard technology as a tool for people to learn. At present, in our school, educational information technology is more as a learning medium, aiming at providing students with rich information resources through the display of courseware. Educational information technology is not only technical, digital, networked, intelligent and multimedia, but also educational, open, shared, interactive and coordinated. Therefore, educational information technology not only extends people's ability and expands the social environment that supports learning, but also breaks the education system centered on school education, making education socialized, lifelong and autonomous. How to integrate them internally and form a more advanced concept of modern educational technology to guide the educational informationization of schools is an urgent problem to be solved. The reason why students' learning methods still maintain the status quo under the informationization of education is because the integration of information technology as a high-tech and its related new educational concepts is not harmonious. In the practice of educational informatization, on the one hand, it shows neglect or even indifference to people. Education needs technology. The fundamental purpose of the organic combination of the two is to improve the efficiency of knowledge acquisition and use it as a means to promote learning, so that students can become the masters of learning, develop their subjective consciousness, initiative and creativity, improve their practical ability and comprehensive quality, and fundamentally promote the development of teachers and students. On the other hand, it emphasizes teaching rather than learning. Teaching is the means and learning is the purpose. They are an inseparable and unified whole, and their foothold can only be learning rather than teaching, because the starting point and destination of teaching activities are to promote students' learning and development. Education needs technology, and the core of technology application is to create a learning environment for students, so that students can get feedback through practical learning, constantly improve their understanding and construct new knowledge.
Third, what does educational information technology mean to students' learning?
The rapid development of the information age not only changed people's mode of production and lifestyle, but also changed people's way of thinking and learning, which triggered a worldwide educational reform and learning revolution. 2 1 century education is based on lifelong learning, which is a kind of learning that runs through one's life, is a kind of learning that constantly puts forward and solves problems, is a kind of learning that dares to break narrow professional boundaries and face real and complex tasks, is a kind of learning that cooperates, shares and progresses with others, is a kind of learning that constantly reflects on oneself, is a kind of learning that relies on information technology to integrate real situations with virtual situations, and is a kind of learning that uses information technology (including And changing learning should start with the teacher. Teachers should not be "information providers" but "expert learners". Teachers should be guides, helpers and guides, help students discover, organize and manage knowledge, engage in advanced exchange visits, ask questions, explain problems and refute opinions.
Educational technology prepares students for a rapidly developing world, in which more and more changes are taking place in work and other activities due to the development of various technologies. Students use educational technology to find, explore, analyze, communicate and display information with their sense of responsibility, creativity and discrimination. They learn how to use educational technology to quickly get in touch with ideas and experiences of various people, societies and cultures. By developing the ability to use education, they can promote their enthusiasm and independence in learning, and have the ability to judge when and where to use educational technology with the best effect, and consider its significance to family and work life at present and in the future.
The development of information technology provides students with new ways of learning, promotes the sharing of high-quality educational resources and promotes the modernization of education. Computer multimedia system is interactive, and its application helps students design personalized learning paths under the guidance of teachers. Every student can develop at his own speed on his own learning path, which provides every student with the key to truly understand the information society.
Fourthly, my experience in educational informatization.
As an ideological and moral teacher, I am more concerned about how to integrate information technology with courses, how to effectively apply it to subject teaching, and how to change students' learning methods, so as to improve teaching quality and efficiency. In the process of years of study, practice and exploration, there are excitement and confusion.
At first, I used information technology as a demonstration tool. From the simplest text demonstration to the more complex comprehensive demonstration of information elements such as words, sounds, images and animations. It greatly expands the space-time scope of students' learning, and rich information increases students' interest in learning, making abstract knowledge concrete and visual. Although students' attention and learning attitude have obviously improved, their learning style has not changed, and they still passively accept knowledge. I have always been confused and thought about the crux of the problem. Then, I redesigned the teaching content and teaching methods, allowing students to explore knowledge and obtain information through various channels from a single instillation mode, trying to provide students with interesting and useful information, organizing students to carry out meaningful and interesting activities, and letting students see the results of their exploration and efforts through positive feedback. In teaching, I am no longer just imparting knowledge and information, but by stating questions, putting questions under certain conditions and putting all kinds of questions in future situations, so as to introduce knowledge and let students establish links between their answers and broader questions. Students' learning style began to change, from passively accepting knowledge to actively exploring knowledge, and their learning attitude, interest, ability and efficiency were improved to varying degrees, but personalized independent learning and cooperative competitive learning were not obvious. Therefore, I regard information technology as a research study of network resources. I design a specific hypothetical situation or task, usually a problem to be solved or a project to be completed. At the same time, I also prepare and provide some internet resources for students, asking them to put forward creative solutions through the analysis and synthesis of information, aiming at enabling students to acquire knowledge and integrate knowledge. Students' learning style has made a qualitative leap, and their learning attitude, interest, ability and efficiency are getting higher and higher, and they have begun to form personalized independent learning and cooperative competitive learning.
In this process, my students and I have established a new teacher-student relationship, from the role of "soloist" to the role of "accompanist". From then on, I no longer mainly teach knowledge, but help students discover, organize and manage knowledge, and guide them instead of shaping them. In this process, students learn to learn, learn to grow independently, and fully develop their personalities. In this process, teachers have also been liberated, and the use of information technology has kept my enthusiasm as a teacher.
Verb (abbreviation of verb) Reality and Future: Educational Informatization, a Necessary Utopia
Educational informatization shows us the ideal educational situation under the information technology environment. However, we must be soberly aware that information technology itself cannot naturally trigger an educational revolution or create an educational miracle. It may promote educational innovation or strengthen traditional education, because the social function of any technology depends on its users. Usually, people's views on educational technology depend on their fundamental views on technology and education, and the renewal of educational concepts is very important for the healthy development of modern educational technology. Educational technology has changed, and educational concepts should be adapted to it. Therefore, in the face of the wave of educational informatization, it is very necessary for teachers to recognize the general direction of educational reform, update their educational concepts, and know how to use information technology to support educational reform and promote educational development. However, in the field of basic education, whether it is classroom teaching, learning methods or teaching evaluation, it is still bound by traditional educational concepts, and it is difficult to integrate new information technology with related new educational concepts. It takes a long process for modern educational technology to rise from the auxiliary position of education to the core of educational reform and development and become a powerful lever to promote educational modernization. Facing all kinds of challenges in the future, educational informatization is an irresistible development trend, and its prospect inspires people and helps students become capable adults and lifelong learners. If information technology is a powerful magic wand, then teachers are magicians who manipulate this magic wand. Educational informatization is still a necessary utopia in promoting the transformation of students' learning methods.
