Generally speaking, it can be divided into five types.

1, unified undergraduate recruitment: I took the national unified college entrance examination in June, reached a certain score, was admitted to colleges and universities, and studied full-time in school, which was divided into three years of junior college and four years of undergraduate college, of which three years of junior college can get academic certificate, and four years of undergraduate college can get academic certificate+degree certificate.

2. Self-taught examination: Candidates take the national unified self-taught examination, with more than a dozen exams. After all the exams are passed, academic certificates will be issued. A form of examination organized by the local self-study examination committee in conjunction with local colleges and universities and organized by the provincial self-study examination office. The certificate is stamped with the seal of the examiner's college and the self-study examination committee.

3. Online education: distance education, that is, through the computer Internet platform, students log in to the school official website, enter their student ID and password, and download videos for online learning.

4. RTVU: I took the final exam and the school-based exam. As long as you take the final exam of each academic year and complete the credits, you can graduate smoothly. The graduation certificate was issued by the Beijing headquarters.

5. Adult college entrance examination: I participated in the national unified adult college entrance examination, with a total score of 450 points in three subjects except language, reaching a certain score, being admitted to colleges and universities, and graduating smoothly after completing the credits. Learning methods include correspondence, part-time (night university) and full-time, and the words adult higher education will be printed on the certificate.

Development history

The development of distance education in China has experienced three generations:

The first generation is correspondence education, which has trained many talents for the country, but correspondence education has great limitations;

The second generation is radio and television education, which rose in the 1980s. China's distance education model and CCTV are world-renowned. In 1990s, with the development of information and network technology, the third generation of modern distance education based on information and network technology came into being.

At the end of 1994, under the auspices of the State Education Commission at that time, 10 universities including Tsinghua University jointly undertook the "CERNET Demonstration Project". This is the first public computer network in China that adopts TCP/IP protocol.

1996 president Wang Dazhong of Tsinghua University took the lead in proposing the development of modern distance education; 65438-0997, Hunan University cooperated with Hunan Telecom for the first time to build an online university. Tsinghua University launched online postgraduate courses on 1998.

1September 1998, the Ministry of Education officially approved Tsinghua University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Zhejiang University and Hunan University as the first batch of national modern distance education pilot institutions.
