In April 2000, with the approval of the State Council, xi Medical University, Shaanxi University of Finance and Economics and Xi Jiaotong University merged to form a new Xi Jiaotong University. In June 2000, xi Jiaotong University decided to merge the former Vocational and Technical College of Xi Jiaotong University, the Continuing Education College of Xi Jiaotong University, the Adult Education College of Xi Medical University, the Health School affiliated to Xi Medical University, the Adult Education College of Shaanxi University of Finance and Economics and the Self-taught Counseling Center to form the Vocational and Technical and Continuing Education College of Xi Jiaotong University.
