Montessori education (Montessori? Education) is an educational method developed by Italian psychologist and educator maria montessori. According to statistics, more than 20,000 Montessori schools around the world practice this kind of education, serving children from birth to 18 years old.
Extended data:
Montessori began to develop her theory and method in 1897. She studied pedagogy at the University of Rome and read the educational theory 200 years ago. 1907, she opened the first classroom in her residence in Rome: Casa dei Bambini (or "Children's Home").
At the beginning, Montessori's work was based on observing children and providing them with feasible environmental experiments, materials and courses. She often mentions that her job is a "scientific educational method".
Montessori continued to expand her work all her life and developed a comprehensive model of psychological development from birth to 24 years old, which is also a set of educational methods suitable for children of all ages from 0 to 3 years old, 3 to 6 years old, 6 to 12 years old.
She wrote books and lectures for children aged 12 to 18 and above, but these programs did not develop in her lifetime. Montessori is a public language, so anyone can use it, whether it refers to her works or not.
