How did Su Dongpo propose marriage for his children and grandchildren?
Su Dongpo, with his personality, thoughts and temperament, integrates Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism, is happy with the situation and indomitable; Literary and artistic creation, poetry and prose are outstanding, calligraphy and painting, Mo Miao world; Handicraft art, pen and ink making, vegetable spoon planting, all have experience; Life experience, big officials, criminal officials have experienced, exiled officials, everywhere at home. There is no doubt that Su Dongpo, a great writer, is a versatile, broad-minded and funny man, which is rare in the history of ancient and modern China and foreign countries. How does such a person treat important events in life? I believe many people have a strong interest in this. What I want to say here is not how Su Dongpo views his own life events, but how he views the life events of future generations. In Su Dongpo's anthology, there are three letters in which he proposed marriage for his children and grandchildren, all of which are short and elegantly worded. However, we can still feel Mr. Dongpo's unique temperament and interest. The first letter was a suggestion to the eldest son, Mai Su. The content is as follows: I traveled to Li Yong in my early years. Make friends and attach importance to marriage. An eldest son, Mai, is talented and simple-minded, and approaches his master with a skill. A virtuous little lady, long-term training, is far from family law. I am not ashamed to talk about money, and I wish to have endless happiness. The first four sentences are platitudes, which may also mean that Su Jia and her in-laws are family friends, and Mai Su and her little daughter are childhood friends. After the rhetoric, Su Dongpo cut to the chase. He adopted a low-key method of restraining himself and promoting others. When introducing his son, he used the word "talented and unpretentious" to explain that he was just a student who tried hard to win fame in the imperial examination, and praised his daughter as a flower and a very good family tutor. Shiwan, the Shiwanjun of the Han Dynasty, surnamed Shi Mingfen, served Liu Bang, the emperor gaozu of Han Dynasty, and educated his children in a sincere and simple way. As a result, the stone family's father and son are both successful in my official career, enjoying high officials and generous salaries. It can be seen that Su Dongpo, the prospective in-laws, is a loyal and honest person. The last two sentences are also platitudes, from which we can see that when proposing to your son, you should give money-a gift. The second letter is a proposal for the third son, Su Guo. The writing and wording of this letter are not quite the same as the last one, as follows: Dare to discuss marriage depends on the end of the country; I forgot that the door valve is the same as the sound. Since the tortoise obeyed, the ancestors were happy. Fu Chengling's children, two little ladies and Qingxiu, they are the only five long guards; The third son, a, is rich in quality and poor in literary talent. The South has several answers. If you care about money, you will have endless happiness forever. I'm afraid of it, but I don't care about it. Judging from the previous four sentences, Su Guo's fiance is closer to Su Dongpo, that is, he is a fellow countryman and a like-minded person. Therefore, the following words are even more straightforward, that is, "the tortoise is obedient and the ancestors are happy", indicating that they have calculated the divination, measured their birthdays and consulted the opinions of two elders. This proposal is either a formality or Su Dongpo is determined to win. This letter changed the order of introducing the children of both sides, praising the other two ladies first, and then quietly introducing their three sons. Celebrating Wei should mean gathering good people. Gong Wei's five strengths have yet to be verified in detail, which should refer to the five outstanding daughters of a famous person in ancient times; Nan Rong, a disciple of Confucius, is also known as Nangong scholar. Because of his reliability, Confucius married his niece to him. It can be seen that Su Dongpo said that Su Guo lacks literary talent, but he still likes this son very much. The last four sentences are also rhetoric, in which the last two sentences express the meaning of fear. Judging from the whole letter, Su Dongpo deliberately played a rhetorical game with his prospective in-laws and entertained himself in an elegant way. Su Dongpo proposed marriage not only for his son, but also for his grandson. The third proposal letter is that Fu Su, the second son of the eldest son Mai Su, proposed to someone else. The contents are as follows: (1) Married at an early age and has joined Kundi's in-laws; Hanging white and desolate, thinking about the marriage of children and grandchildren. Dare to rely on good deeds and walk high. Shi Changzi's second son, born rough and crazy, has elegant ancestors. Fu Chengli ordered his disciples to set up a fourteen-year-old wife, the daughter of their ancestors, and teach her to become a temple. The manuscript fee of zhonglang's tomb code is in others; My aunt's marriage is real. I saw you again today. Yang Yuanzhi rewelding gas, listen to. The suitor of this letter married Su Shi's younger brother Su Zhe in his early years. Thus, if this proposal succeeds, it will be a kiss. At the time of writing this letter, Su Dongpo has been exiled to Lingnan area, where Yanfang is a place of boils, and people who go to the north are easily acclimatized. Su Dongpo's concubine Chaoyun died in Huizhou. In a word, Su Dongpo was in a difficult situation at that time, and it was difficult to protect himself. However, he remembered his grandson's marriage and personally wrote to propose to someone. This time, when he introduced his grandson and Fu Su, the second son of his eldest son Mai Su, he took a supercilious attitude. Although his grandson's talent is only below the average level, he grew up in a scholarly family. Because he inherited the legacy and heritage of his ancestors, he was quite literary, so he was "involuntarily". The Book of Rites contains: "A son who is good at smelting must learn to be a hill; The son of a good bow must learn to shovel. " Of course, according to the usual practice, Su Dongpo did not forget to praise the other woman as a virtuous person. "The reward of Zhong Lang's grave code lies in others", which shows that the other party is also a scholar. Su Dongpo praised his knowledge by the way. "Aunt's marriage will see you again today, which is really right", indicating that they are related to their cousins this time. This time, it seems that there is no prior discussion, and Su Dongpo is not sure. So in the end, I said let the other party decide, and I am willing to wait for good news. It should be pointed out that Su Dongpo's statement about his son Yu Lu is actually a complaint, not a factual record. He once wrote a poem about washing children, saying, "Everyone has a son who wants to be smart, but I was delayed by being smart all my life.". I only hope that my children and grandchildren will be stupid and honest, and there will be no disasters and no difficulties in reaching the public. " Looking at these three letters about Su Dongpo's advice to children and grandchildren, it is easy to think of Lu Xun's four poems, "Ruthlessness is not necessarily a hero. How can Reiko Kobayakawa not be a husband?" And "look at a thousand fingers with cold eyes and bow your head as a willing ox." There are both stubbornness in the cruel political struggle and the warmth of loving family and children and grandchildren. I think this is the loveliness of Su Dongpo, a great writer!
