The existence of the teacher program provides support for the newly arrived children in China, helps them improve their English language ability, and helps them live more comfortably in a new country and culture.

Volunteer obligation

Volunteers pair up with a student or a small group of students to help students read and write, help create an interesting and energetic learning atmosphere for children, and provide guidance and consultation for students' English.

Volunteer requirements

At least 15 years old. Strong English reading, writing and speaking skills. Computer knowledge. The ability to explain concepts to children. Being able to speak Mandarin is an advantage.

The education team of Toronto Wildlife Center provides lectures and seminars from schools and community groups for the public of all ages. We pay attention to the key issues affecting urban wildlife, break common misunderstandings and misunderstandings about wildlife, discuss our work as a wildlife rehabilitation center, and share actions that people of all ages can take.

Volunteer obligation

Youth Mutual Aid Organization (YAY) is a non-profit organization that provides opportunities for young people to volunteer in the community. The Virtual Girl Empowerment Program (GEP) provided by YAY is a free group counseling program for 10- 17-year-old new immigrant (self-confirmed) girls. We help newcomers to establish special ties with other girls of the same age in Canada and improve their communication skills. GEP volunteers are young people from 16-29.

A person who provides positive role demonstration, leadership and guidance for girls by helping to guide group discussions and social activities.

Responsibilities and requirements of volunteers

Kensington Garden is a non-profit long-term care institution with 350 beds, providing multicultural care in a comfortable environment. We respect the dignity and human rights of every resident. We support and encourage residents to live independently. Our goal is to provide quality care in a people-oriented way.

Volunteer obligation

Make coffee/tea and provide food for customers.

Assist residents, employees and other customers to shop as needed.

Keep the work area clean and tidy.

Order materials through the volunteer service coordinator as needed. Comply with all safety requirements of food handlers and food service personnel.
