Zuo Tieyong, 1936, born in Beijing, is a material scientist, an expert in circular economy, an academician of China Academy of Engineering, a professor at Central South University and Beijing University of Technology, and a doctoral supervisor.

Won Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award in 2006; In 2007, he won the third prize of Master of Teaching in Colleges and Universities of the Ministry of Education; In 2007, he was named as an influential figure in the 30 years of reform and opening up of China nonferrous industry; 20 12 was awarded the Industry-University-Research Cooperation Outstanding Contribution Award by China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Promotion Association.
