Comparison of Civic Education in Different Countries
Civic education in the United States places more emphasis on cultivating active and influential citizens; In Singapore, South Korea and other Asian countries, influenced by Confucian culture, civic education focuses on moral education, emphasizing the importance of morality to individuals, families, society and countries in order to remember the rise and fall of the nation. Although China's civic education started late, by comparing the western civic education with China's ideological and political education, we find that the essence of civic education is not the same as China's ideological and political education. China's ideological and political education has a strong political color, with the socialist core value system as the backbone, aiming at establishing the correct values, world outlook and political direction of young people, and is an important part of quality education.
