Keywords: respect/"education of respect"/ontological connotation/theoretical premise

Respect is one of the most important ethical principles in human life. Since the concept of "respect education" was put forward by Northeast Normal University in 200 1, many researchers have shown strong interest in "respect education", and they have put forward their own views on "respect education", both in theory and in practice. However, for this theoretical problem, it is necessary for us to make an in-depth ontological analysis. Starting from the ontological characteristics of "respect" and "education", we should analyze the theoretical connotation and preconditions of "respect education" and its abstract essence, so as to truly establish the universality of "respect education" and realize the real theoretical consciousness in educational practice.

First of all, why is respect necessary?

The meaning of respect can be interpreted as respect, obedience and attention if it is interpreted according to the method of personality separation. The meaning of "respect" in Chinese Dictionary includes respect and attention, dignity and prominence, solemnity and self-esteem [1]. To sum up, respect means a sincere recognition, which means recognition and recognition of the values, abilities and behaviors of oneself, others and society. At the same time, it is accompanied by appreciation, praise, admiration, affirmation, support and high praise. In people's lives, respect is everywhere. In our daily life, we pay attention to the principle of respect in dealing with people. Without respect, the order of life will become chaotic and we will not live with dignity. In human life, respect is everywhere, the subject of respect is people, and the objects of respect are diverse. Therefore, taking people as the main body and the object of respect as the object, we can simply classify respect, that is, respect for nature, respect for others and respect for self. These three aspects are of great significance to the survival and development of mankind.

(1) Respect is the primary criterion for dealing with the relationship between man and nature.

In ancient times, man and nature were one. Since the awakening of human self-consciousness, human beings have separated themselves from nature, thinking that the world is made up of people and natural objects, and thus the problem of how to treat natural objects different from themselves has arisen. Mankind once adopted an anthropocentric attitude, which is reflected in the subjective philosophy of modern western countries. However, human beings have paid a huge price for trying to conquer, interfere and seize natural resources crazily, and the ecological environment on which human beings depend has been greatly destroyed. "The development of human beings for more than 200 years since industrial civilization has brought the conflict between man and nature to an end." [2] Humans began to reflect on the relationship between man and nature, and realized that if people's subjective initiative is fully exerted, the relationship between man and nature will become tense. The selfish nature of human beings is covered up and found to be synchronous [3]. When dealing with the relationship between man and the world, man should first respect the objectivity of nature, and the exertion of man's subjective initiative must be based on objectivity. In the final analysis, man is restricted by nature. Therefore, the first criterion for human beings to deal with the relationship with nature is to respect nature in order to respect the establishment of the relationship between man and nature. As China's ancient Taoist philosophy put forward, "take the natural ontology as the original principle of all values, clear the barriers of alienated civilization and return to compensation" [4]. Respecting nature means neither worshiping nature nor taking nature as the object of conquest. Respecting nature means appreciating everything that nature brings to human beings, being close to nature and being integrated with nature. More importantly, human beings must regard nature as a partner, respect the laws of nature, acknowledge that laws are independent of human will, realize that the exertion of human subjective initiative is restricted by laws, respect the characteristics of human activities, take actions according to their development and operation laws, and live in harmony with nature.

(b) Respect the needs of the prosperity and development of human society.

"Man was a flawed creature at first, and later he created culture to make up for his shortcomings." [5]36 It is based on this characteristic of human beings that respect has become the primary criterion for dealing with the relationship between individuals, individuals and groups, and groups and groups. As an individual, we must respect others. Bubel, an existentialist educational philosopher, clearly pointed out that the relationship between people should be "I and you" rather than "I and him", which means that the subject must respect the individual with intersubjectivity as he respects himself. Respecting others means respecting basic human nature, recognizing the dignity, personality characteristics and development needs of others, facing up to the existence of social problems in social life, bravely taking social responsibilities, and being a dignified social person. Individuals should respect groups that exist as others. With the acceleration of globalization, for individuals, more and more others have entered the field of vision of life, and respecting these others has become the primary attitude of modern people, showing sincere recognition of the customs and beliefs of other nationalities, other countries, other cultures and foreigners. Respect is the common value of human beings. At present, the nation-states in the world must regard respect as the first principle in handling diplomatic relations. Only by respecting a society with diverse characteristics can human society coexist harmoniously, cultural diversity be maintained continuously, cultural ecology be not destroyed, and human beings can thrive on the earth. From the human point of view, respect makes people feel harmonious and dignified, which is an important adjustment mechanism to help people find certainty, security and sustainable development in the process of human evolution. We can find the meaning of respect in many regional cultures around the world. In the sense of respect, human beings are interrelated, and respect is universal in all cultures around the world. Only by adhering to mutual respect can we achieve harmonious development and win-win cooperation, otherwise we will suffer various costly injuries such as war.

(3) Respect is the need of individual survival and development.

One difference between humans and animals is that humans have self-awareness and can regard themselves as objects, so only humans have the need for self-esteem. Respect for self means that the subject regards himself as an object, shows recognition, recognition and satisfaction with his own abilities and behaviors, and does not allow others to express insults, discrimination and other meanings to himself. Therefore, respecting yourself is self-esteem. Self-esteem can help people to relieve anxiety and stress in life, help people to realize self-confidence, self-reliance and self-improvement, and thus truly establish a real image of people. In addition, respect is indispensable for individuals to communicate with other individuals and groups. The survival of individuals is not isolated, but interrelated with other individuals. It is in the process of interacting with others that respect plays an important role in communication, making us feel that our life is valuable, that we are important and that we are recognized. At the same time, respect also makes us believe that it is normal for others to have different ideas and values from ours, and others have the same rationality, willpower and emotional expression as us. In this way, in an environment of mutual respect, individuals can live physically and mentally healthily and truly realize the independence of personality.
