In June, 1983, with the approval of Wuhan Public Bureau and Wuhan Labor Bureau, "Wuhan Public Bureau Technical School Gas Branch" was established; 1996, the Urban Construction Department of the Ministry of Construction and Wuhan Labor Bureau approved our school to set up "National Urban Gas Vocational Skills Appraisal Institute"; 1April, 1998, Wuhan Gas School (vocational secondary school) was officially approved by Wuhan Municipal Education Commission.

From June 5, 2000 to February 2000, our school became the first batch of "municipal key secondary vocational schools" of Wuhan Municipal Education Commission. 200 1, 1 1, the specialty of gas storage, transmission and distribution and application in our school was rated as "municipal key specialty" by Wuhan Education Bureau. On March 29th, 2002, Wuhan Education Bureau and Wuhan Organization Office approved the renaming of our school as "Wuhan Gas Heating School".

On April 4, 2002, Wuhan Personnel Bureau approved our school to establish a national civil servant training base and a continuing education base for professional and technical personnel; On July 15, 2002, Hubei Provincial Department of Labor and Social Security and Hubei Provincial Development Planning Commission agreed to set up Wuhan Gas and Thermal Technical School.

In 2008, the specialty of "gas storage, distribution and application" in our school was rated as the brand specialty of Hubei Provincial Department of Education. In 2009, it was rated as a "model" secondary vocational school by Wuhan Education Bureau. In 2009, it was awarded as "Advanced Collective of Employment Work" by Wuhan Education Bureau. In 2009, it was named as a key technical school in Hubei Province by the Hubei Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security (Hubei Provincial Department of Labor and Social Security).
