Chinese language and literature is an undergraduate major in colleges and universities, which belongs to the language and literature major in China. The basic study period is four years, and the bachelor of arts degree is awarded.
Students in this major mainly study the basic knowledge of Chinese and China literature, systematically educate and train related theories, development history, research status, etc., and cultivate a certain literary theory accomplishment and systematic knowledge of Chinese language and literature.
Senior Chinese language and literature professionals who can engage in literary criticism, Chinese language and literature teaching and research, and cultural propaganda in news, literature and art publishing departments, universities, scientific research institutions, institutions, enterprises and institutions.
Education and teaching train students to have a firm and correct political direction, a solid foundation of language and writing, a high literary accomplishment, a systematic grasp of the basic knowledge of Chinese language and literature, and a strong ability of literary perception, reading literary classics, aesthetic evaluation and writing and oral expression in their mother tongue.
The professional curriculum system consists of three parts: general education curriculum, professional education curriculum and comprehensive education curriculum. General education courses include humanities, social sciences, natural science foundation, foreign languages, computer and information technology, physical education and practical training.
Professional education courses include basic courses of this discipline, professional courses and professional practice of related majors. Comprehensive education courses include ideological and political education, academic activities, cultural and sports activities and other optional activities.
The specific number of teachers is determined according to the subject status, enrollment scale, training objectives, curriculum and other factors. The ratio of students to teachers should conform to the regulations of the Ministry of Education. There are not less than 6 teachers who undertake professional core courses (professional basic courses), and generally they should have doctoral degrees.
Teachers should have a postgraduate degree in language and literature in China. The age structure and knowledge structure of the teaching staff are reasonable and relatively stable, and they have academic leaders with high academic attainments. Due consideration should be given to the professional balance and academic structure within the discipline, and the proportion of teachers with senior titles should not be less than 30%; Teachers with overseas study and visit experience should account for a certain proportion.
