Paying attention to and evaluating the quality of kindergarten education is a hot issue in the development of preschool education in contemporary countries. Understanding the basic concepts of kindergarten education quality evaluation is the starting point for discussing kindergarten education quality evaluation. However, for a long time, there has been a lack of research on the basic theory of kindergarten education quality evaluation in China, which has caused people to be confused about basic issues such as "what is the quality of kindergarten education" and "what is the evaluation of kindergarten education quality". Unclear concepts lead to backward concepts and weak theoretical research, which is not conducive to the scientific and reasonable evaluation of kindergarten education quality in China.
Based on this, this paper attempts to deeply analyze the basic concepts of kindergarten education quality evaluation from the angles of etymology and axiology, with a view to enriching, perfecting and developing the theoretical system of preschool education evaluation in China, and providing reference for initially constructing the evaluation system of preschool education quality with China characteristics.
