Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council have attached great importance to higher vocational education, vigorously developed higher vocational education, continuously increased policy supply, and accelerated the construction of a modern higher vocational education system. It should be said that higher vocational education has achieved a new historical leap in innovation, from running a school with reference to general education to a relatively independent type of education, and has entered a new stage of improving quality, cultivating Excellence and increasing value. Mainly reflected in four aspects:

The school-running system has been continuously improved. The diversified school-running pattern of government-led, industry-guided and enterprise participation has been gradually improved. There are 435 vocational schools run by state-owned enterprises and more than 2,200 vocational schools run by private enterprises. More than 3,000 people from more than 50 industry departments, industry organizations and central enterprises led the establishment of 56 industry vocational education and teaching steering committees. More than10.5 million vocational education groups have been established with the participation of more than 30,000 enterprises, and 24,900 training bases have been built by vocational schools and enterprises. More than 3,000 enterprises integrating production and education will be cultivated, and 2 1 city integrating production and education will be built on a pilot basis.

At present, there are 9,786 secondary vocational schools (including 2,492 technical schools) and 8 higher vocational schools 15 18 (including 32 vocational undergraduate schools) in China, basically achieving at least one secondary vocational school in each county and at least one higher vocational school in each city, and the role of vocational education in serving regional economic and social development is more prominent. Secondary vocational schools-higher vocational colleges-vocational education undergraduate professional system integrated design, with 1349 specialties and120,000 specialties, which basically covered all fields of the national economy.

The highlights of international cooperation are outstanding. At present, vocational colleges have been established with more than 70 countries and international organizations. In Europe and Oceania, where the economic level is developed, the participation rate of vocational education and high school enrollment rate reach 17% and 90% respectively. On the other hand, in economically underdeveloped areas, the participation rate of vocational education is less than 10%. However, with the development of economic level, the participation rate of vocational education in underdeveloped areas has obvious room for improvement. For example, in East Asia, with the remarkable improvement of regional economic development in recent years, the enrollment rate of high schools is basically the same as that of economically developed regions. With the improvement of economic level in underdeveloped areas, the participation rate of vocational education will also usher in the opportunity of further improvement.
