Yichun Education Bureau is the functional department of the Municipal People's Government in charge of the city's education work, with 22 administrative staff and 5 career staff. There are seven functional departments including secretary, personnel, financial planning, basic education, vocational education, higher education, normal education and social management, and the Education Supervision Office of the Municipal People's Government is established in this bureau. The supervision office is the institution of the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection stationed in the Municipal Education Bureau.

There are 6 directly affiliated institutions, including teaching and research section, enrollment office, equipment station, audio-visual education center, correspondence school and work-study program office, and 45 fully funded institutions. The audio-visual education center hosted a computer training center, which was responsible for the computer grade examination.
