Harbin Aviation Industry School in 1950s and 1960s was a secondary specialized school specialized in training aviation industry professionals. The preparatory work for the school began in April of 195 1 and was sponsored by the Ministry of Heavy Industry of the then Central People's Government.

On June 26th, 195 1, Harbin Aviation School was located in No.1 Air Force Factory of Kazakhstan. At that time, it was called "Luban troops" and was responsible for the maintenance of the air force. After the Aviation Industry Bureau of the Ministry of Heavy Industry took over this area, it allocated 9 million yuan to divide 296.4 mu of land east of Zhongshan Road (now Zhongshan Road 137) in Harbin into the teaching area of Harbin Aviation Industry School, and to build the main teaching building, practice factory and dormitory building.

1954 10 with the approval of Harbin municipal government, 77.6 mu of land west of Zhongshan Road was designated as the living area of Harbin Aviation School, and a new dormitory area was built.

At the beginning of the school, the teaching building was composed of several old buildings and two hangars left over by the Japanese puppet army. The living quarters of faculty and students are scattered in Xuanhua Street, Wen Ming Street and Li Fangyuan. The main teaching building of Harbin Aviation School was built in 1955, and now it is Fenghua Middle School.

The aviation school later sent outstanding graduates to famous universities for further study, and returned to China to teach after graduation to supplement the teaching staff.

The first batch of students mainly came from the Central South Military Region of the People's Liberation Army of China and the cultural cadres and soldiers of the ranked middle schools returned from Chinese people's Volunteer Army, and a small number of them were junior high school graduates from Bora, Jilin. 1958 teachers and students majoring in aircraft manufacturing put forward suggestions on designing and manufacturing the agricultural aircraft "Heilongjiang No.1" by themselves according to the teaching content. During the Cultural Revolution, Harbin Aviation School was closed and dismounted. Approved by the State Council and other relevant departments, it was changed to Fenghua Machinery Factory (code name Harbin 254 Factory).

From 65438 to 0978, more than 30 teachers and cadres of Harbin Aviation School were transferred to Langfang City, Hebei Province, becoming the main leaders and teaching backbones of North China Aerospace Industry School. North China Aerospace Industry School was upgraded to an institution of higher learning, which is now North China Aerospace Industry Institute.
