National curriculum, also known as "national unified curriculum", refers to the curriculum compiled, implemented and evaluated by the central government from top to bottom.

The curriculum development center responsible for the national curriculum generally has the following characteristics:

(1) permissions. The authority of curriculum development centers comes from the responsibilities entrusted to them by the government and the legitimacy entrusted to them by the law;

(2) Diversity. Curriculum development center can develop courses for the whole education system, and also for some fields; Courses can be compiled for a certain education stage or several education stages, for a certain school or several schools, and for a certain discipline or several disciplines;

(3) mandatory. In most countries, courses prepared by curriculum development centers are compulsory, including curriculum standards, textbooks, teachers' books and problem sets.
