The weather station is located at 3157' 35 ÷ N120 53'17 ÷ altitude118.4m. The station is equipped with wind direction recorder, rain gauge and Fulton gas recorder. 1 965438+65438 in 2007+1October1,the meteorological station began to observe. This station not only measures meteorological data such as rainfall, wind direction, temperature and humidity, but also forecasts tidal and astronomical data. It also carries out scientific research work such as climate research in Nantong and founded Meteorological Quarterly. In the 1920s, the station's self-made equatorial observatory, rain gauge, heliograph and astrologer won prizes in exhibitions held in Nanjing and Shanghai. Starting from 19 18, the Meteorological Observatory has compiled an annual report and published the observation records and research results for one year. In addition, there are monthly reports and quarterly reports. These English publications have been exchanged with meteorological bureaus in more than 40 countries. Chen Hao, the second stationmaster of the station, once recalled: "At that time, the equipment of Junshan Meteorological Observatory was only available in China, and it was also quite famous internationally. It is included in the list of international weather stations published in the UK. " At that time, Junshan Meteorological Observatory published a weather forecast in Nantong Daily, which was the first page in the meteorological history of Nantong and even Jiangsu. According to the results of observation and scientific research, the Meteorological Observatory has also carried out scientific popularization to explain meteorological phenomena and get rid of superstitions. 1926 After Zhang Jian's death in July, the Meteorological Observatory was renamed as "Junshan Meteorological Observatory of Agricultural Sciences of Nantong University" and was taken over by the Construction Department of Jiangsu Province in June. 1935. 1in the spring of 938, the Japanese army invaded Nantong and the meteorological observatory was seriously damaged. A large number of precious materials and equipment were robbed and damaged by the Japanese invaders, and the meteorological observatory was in ruins. After liberation, Junshan Meteorological Observatory was transformed into Nantong Meteorological Bureau. In May 1949, 1, Nantong resumed the weather forecast, which has continued to this day. After the Meteorological Bureau moved into the urban area, the original site of Junshan Meteorological Observatory no longer assumed meteorological functions. Now, Nantong Meteorological Bureau has become a prefecture-level meteorological bureau with 7 departments, more than 60 staff and perfect meteorological service system. At the beginning of 1997, the National Meteorological Administration recognized Nantong Junshan Meteorological Observatory as the first meteorological observatory built by China people, and the Nantong Municipal Government listed its former site as a key cultural relic protection unit. 1998, under the auspices of Langshan Scenic Area, the building of Jiangjunshan Meteorological Observatory was restored to its original state. "Looking up is easy, there are clouds and thunder under your knees." Now, tourists can not only enjoy the scenery of Junshan Mountain, but also learn about the development history of local meteorological undertakings in China. Junshan Meteorological Observatory is a good place for patriotism education and meteorological science popularization.
