General situation of scientific research in School of Life Science and Engineering, Shaanxi University of Science and Technology
At present, the College has undertaken more than 30 national, provincial, ministerial and bureau-level vertical scientific research projects, including 2 of the 15 major scientific and technological projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology-the demonstration project of western dairy development and safety inspection, the demonstration project of fruit safety inspection and evaluation system of the Ministry of Science and Technology 1, 9 provincial and ministerial-level projects, 23 bureau-level projects, and more than 0 horizontal scientific and technological development projects of companies and enterprises1. In recent years, it has won 6 national, provincial and ministerial awards and 8 national patents. Recently, more than 30 monographs and textbooks have been officially published, more than 400 papers have been published, and more than 60 scientific research projects at all levels have been completed. Many projects have also been industrialized and achieved obvious economic and social benefits. Among them, the synthesis and application of rosemary antioxidant, active lactic acid bacteria products, soybean fermented beverage and sucrose polyester oil substitute have a high academic level, which fills the gap in China. 1

The research and development of new high-activity lactic acid bacteria milk powder, a sub-project of the national tenth five-year plan major scientific and technological project "Modern production technology integration and industrialization demonstration of dairy industry in northwest agricultural areas (Shaanxi)" undertaken by Shaanxi Natural Science Foundation, has been successfully industrialized in large dairy enterprises such as Shenguo and xi 'an Yinqiao in Shaanxi, which has solved the problem that dairy farmers in Shaanxi are difficult to sell milk, and is of great significance to increasing farmers' income and promoting local economic development. Won the second prize of Shaanxi Science and Technology and two invention patents. When food safety became a hot topic in the whole country, Professor Dong undertook the sub-project "Rapid Detection Technology of Milk Quality" of the National Tenth Five-Year Plan major scientific and technological project "Modern Production Technology Integration and Industrialization Demonstration of Dairy Industry in Northwest Agricultural Area (Shaanxi)". Five graduates from 2004 and 2005, including Wang Yinjuan and Wang Yinjuan, participated in the paper work for the purpose of scientific and technological innovation, and jointly completed the rapid detection method of fresh milk. Obtained two national invention patents, and this achievement was reported by Xinhua News Agency, reprinted and broadcast by major national media such as Science and Technology Daily, China Food News, china dairy Net, CCTV- 10, and Hong Kong Satellite TV Chinese Channel. Some of these technologies have been adopted by Yili Company and Xi Anyinqiao Company, ensuring the quality of dairy products from the source and promoting the benign and sustainable development of dairy industry. Eight students, including Chen Jie and Zhang Xiangyu of Grade 04, participated in the "Promotion Project of Adulterated Milk Rapid Detection Kit" and won the second prize of the third "Challenge Cup" business plan competition in Shaanxi Province.

The College undertakes two sub-topics of the National Tenth Five-Year Major Science and Technology Project "Integration and Demonstration of Modern Production Technology for Apple (Food) Safety in Shaanxi"-detection of pesticide residues and heavy metals in apples and HACCP system, bagging safety in apples and HACCP system. The completion of this project successfully solved the brand advantage of Shaanxi as the largest apple province in China. The popularization and application of this achievement made the apples in the main producing areas in Shaanxi reach the standard of green food and put an end to the export of apples.
