Tianjin University of Technology, located in Tianjin, is a multi-disciplinary university with work as the center, combining work with theory, and developing engineering, science, management, literature, art and other disciplines. Tianjin is a municipal institution of higher learning. It has been selected into the Education and Training Program for Outstanding Engineers of the Ministry of Education, the Academic Innovation and Intelligence Introduction Program of Colleges and Universities (11Plan), the China government scholarship institutions for overseas students, the first batch of "new engineering" research and practice projects of the Ministry of Education, and the first batch of scientific and technological achievements transformation and technology transfer bases of colleges and universities.

The school, formerly known as Tianjin University of Technology, began to recruit undergraduates in the name of Tianjin University of Technology in199, and was formally established in198 with the approval of the State Council. 1996, the former Tianjin Institute of Technology merged with the former Tianjin Institute of Technology No.1 Branch (Tianjin University Electromechanical Branch), Tianjin Institute of Technology No.2 Branch (Tianjin University Branch) and Tianjin University Metallurgical Branch to form a new Tianjin Institute of Technology. In 2004, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Tianjin University of Technology was renamed Tianjin University of Technology. [ 1

As of March 2023, the school has a total floor area of1567,500 square meters and a building area of 757,800 square meters. There are 15 professional colleges, 66 undergraduate majors, 4 first-class disciplines authorized by doctor's degree, 22 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degree, 13 master's degree authorization points and 2 post-doctoral research mobile stations; Faculty 1936, including full-time teachers 1494, and more than 29,000 full-time students with bachelor degree or above.
