What should a qualified layman look like?
It doesn't mean that you can only be called a "lay man" after conversion, but anyone with religious beliefs except monks can be called a "lay man". Not only refers to the Buddhist believers called "lay people"; Taoism is also called "lay man".

The differences between people are really varied: some are small and some are big; Some are versatile, colorful and full of whimsy, some are naive and difficult to mature when they are old; Some are kind-hearted and opinionated, some are sleek and sophisticated, and they are good at have it both ways; Some seem to adapt to each other and coordinate with each other, but they are not in their bones. Some are sharp-edged at first, and after being hurt and hit, they are finally worn away, just like stones on the beach; Some are careful not to cross the line, and some ignore the rules and go their own way regardless of everything. Despite such differences, there is a striking similarity between people, that is, as long as there is breath, trouble is inevitable.

A qualified Buddhist who converts to Sambo should at least do the following:

1。 Eat vegetarian food at least on the first and fifteenth day of the first year;

2。 At least five lessons can be memorized (shurangama mantra doesn't require it), but the great compassion mantra, heart sutra, three sessions, Tommy sutra, death mantra and pharmacist enlightenment among the ten little mantras should be memorized.

3. You must attend classes in the morning and evening every day (if you can start with "three conversions" because of busy work, Buddhism calls it "conversion".

4. laity keeps five precepts and ten good deeds.

The most important thing is to be religious.
