Huangshan, abbreviated as Hui or Huang, is a prefecture-level city in Anhui Province, which was called Xin 'an, Zhangzhou and Huizhou in ancient times. Located at the junction of Anhui, Zhejiang and Jiangxi provinces, it is known as the thoroughfare of the three provinces. It borders Jingdezhen and Wuyuan counties in Jiangxi Province in the southwest, Hua Kai, Chun 'an and Lin 'an counties in Zhejiang Province in the southeast, Jixi, Jingdezhen and Jingxian counties in Xuancheng City in Anhui Province in the northeast and Chizhou in the northwest. 1987, Huizhou was abandoned and a prefecture-level city was established in the name of Huangshan.
